Widgets ​

Widgets in the Sensora IoT platform serve as a visual representation of your device's nodes and properties, allowing you to monitor and control your devices in an intuitive and user-friendly manner. You can associate a widget with a specific device property, enabling you to view the current state of that property and, if applicable, change its value.

Creating a Widget ​

Access the Dashboard: Navigate to the dashboard page of your Sensora project. Here, you will find all the current widgets and have the option to add new ones.

Add New Widget: Click the Add New Widget button located usually at the top-right corner of the dashboard. This will open a modal window for creating a new widget.

Widget Configuration ​

Here, you will need to provide the necessary information and configure your new widget.

  • Widget Type: Select the type of widget you want to create. The widget type determines how the data from the associated device property is displayed. Sensora platform supports various types of widgets like single metric, charts, interactive, etc.
  • Device: Select the device whose property you want to associate with this widget.
  • Node & Property: After selecting the device, you'll need to choose a specific node and property of that device which this widget will be linked to. If the property is not linked to a node, it will be displayed in Standalone Properties node.
  • Widget Name: Provide a unique name for the widget. This will help in identifying the widget on your dashboard.
  • Create After you've filled out all the necessary information and configured the widget, click 'Save'. The new widget will be added to your dashboard.

Interacting with Widgets ​

Once you've created a widget, it will appear on your dashboard. The widgets update in real-time, showing the latest data from the associated device property. Depending on the widget type and the property it's linked to, you can also interact with it. For instance, an interactive widget linked to a boolean property might allow you to send toggle a value.

Editing and Deleting Widgets ​

You can edit or delete a widget at any time. To edit a widget, simply find it on your dashboard and click the 'Edit' option. This will open the widget configuration window again, where you can make your changes and save. To delete a widget, find it on your dashboard and click the 'Delete' option. Remember, deleting a widget is permanent and cannot be undone.
